Thursday, March 17

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported that while her son was riding to school a subject approached him and asked to go with him.

Suspicious Person: An officer took a report of a suspicious person on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 8:35 a.m.

Shots Fired: A resident reported that he heard what sounded like gunshots on Spring Grove Avenue at 5:09 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: A subject was banging on an apartment door on Mariposa Avenue at 8:01 p.m., but officers didn’t locate anyone.

Animal Call: A dog got away from a resident while he was on a walk at 10:29 p.m. and the Fairfax Police Department found a dog dead near the same location.

Wednesday, March 16

Tree Down: A tree on Hillside Avenue was ready to come down and it was leaning on some wires. Officers requested PG&E expedite their response.

Suspicious Person: There was a panhandler on Center Boulevard at 1:16 p.m. Officers advised the subject of the ordinance.

Suspicious Circumstances: A female customer attempted to cash a forged check on Tunstead Avenue.

Noise: There was loud music at a residence on Crooked Avenue at 11:34 p.m.

Tuesday, March 15

Sleeper: A woman was sleeping in the doorway on Red Hill Avenue at 7:55 a.m. She was advised of services available in San Rafael, but expressed no interest.

Accident – No Injury: There was a collision at Madrone Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 10:07 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: The day before a man appeared to be impersonating an AT&T representative and spoke to a resident on Santa Cruz Avenue.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident believes her son was physically abused by a staff member on Sunnyhills Drive. It was determined that this matter had already been reported.

Family Disturbance: There was a family issue on Madrone Avenue at 11:39 a.m., but it is not physical or verbal. Officers responded and determined a resident’s son was coming down from heroin. He agreed to go to detox.

Reckless Driving: A van was swerving in its lane and ran a stop sign at Butterfield Road and Rutherford Avenue.

Family Disturbance: A resident got into an argument with her daughter and it got physical on Greenfield Avenue around 1:50 p.m. She stated that her daughter brandished a kitchen knife and threatened her with it. The juvenile then left on a bike, but officers couldn’t locate her. Officers contacted the resident, who said it was verbal only and the juvenile had a knife in her room, but didn’t brandish it.

Driving without a License: At a traffic stop on Red Hill Avenue at 2:53 p.m., a man was determined to be driving while unlicensed. He was cited and released.

Missing Person: A mother reported her juvenile daughter was missing on Bennit Avenue.

Threats: A man came into a store on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard over the weekend and accused the resident of stealing, then made threats, and left the area. The resident has now received phone calls from the same subject.

Reckless Driving: A car was driving on Red Hill Avenue at 5:51 p.m. with excessive speed and was squealing his wheels. He was counseled about his driving.

Fire: A woman locked her keys in the car with her baby and dog, neither were in distress.

Vandalism: A woman on San Anselmo Avenue witnessed a man tagging her garbage can at 7:35 p.m. and chased him towards Scenic Avenue.

Monday, March 14

Suspicious Circumstances: Beer bottles and used fireworks were found in the lower playground on Ross Avenue and the gate was tampered with again.

Accident – Minor Injury: A cement truck tipped over on Scenic Avenue with the driver inside at 10:33 a.m. Officers and the fire department responded. The driver was conscious, but trapped inside. They were able to extract him and he was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.

Annoying Phone Calls: A resident reported harassing phone calls.

Water Main Break: There were multiple calls regarding a water main break that was lifting asphalt into the air on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 3:25 p.m. MMWD responded and worked through the night to make repairs.

Annoying Phone Calls: A resident on Calumet Avenue received suspicious phone calls from a fraud agency.

Solicitor: A solicitor came to the door on San Francisco Boulevard at 7:22 p.m. and said they were switching the neighborhood to fiber optics.

Disturbing the Peace: A woman reported that her boyfriend was throwing things and was inside the house drunk and she was hiding in the back yard on Camino De Herrera at 8:28 p.m. Officers determined it was verbal only and nobody was injured.
