San Anselmo Police Log: ATV accident, Missing Elderly Woman, Eggs Thrown

Selected calls from the San Anselmo Police Department logs. Arrests do not mean conviction.

Sunday, October 30

Burglary: At 7:39 a.m. woman reported her window was broken with a brick but no suspect was around. Officers responded but confirmed there were no items taken.

Vehicle Complaint: A report of a vehicle parked in the red zone at Cedar Street and Tamalpais Avenue at 7:41 a.m. was determined by the responding officer to be not parked in a red zone.

Burglary: A business on San Anselmo Avneue reported a burglary at 2:26 p.m.

Animal Call: A person reported hitting a deer at 5:07 p.m. and wasn’t sure if it was dead. Officer responded and confirmed it was dead and notified the Humane Society for pick up.

Suspicious Circumstances: On Elm Avenue a woman reported at 9:38 p.m. that someone threw a smelly substance at her window.  There was no damage and she didn’t see who was responsible. An officer responded and found that eggs were thrown, most likely from a vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstances: Officer contacted a citizen on Veterans Place who reported a possible intoxicated subject in the area at approximately 9:23 p.m. Officer initially could not locate the subject. Subject was eventually contacted but wasn’t intoxicated.

Saturday, October 30

Suspicious Circumstances: A reporting party said a juvenile informed her that two weeks ago she was approached by a male subject in a vehicle asking her if she wanted a ride.  An officer made contact and took a report.

Missing Person Report:  An elderly female was reported missing at 10:18 a.m. on Mariposa Avenue. Officers checked the area and a report was taken. The reporting party later called back and stated the subject was found.

Municipal Code Violation:  A reporting party reported that a company has been dumping waste into their receptacle on San Anselmo Avenue. Officers contacted the responsible and they were warned for illegal dumping.

Traffic Signal Problems: At 3:32 p.m. someone reported that a turn signal was changing quickly at Sir Francis Drake and Barber Avenue and only allowing one vehicle to pass through. Officer responded and monitored the light and found it was allowing ample vehicles pass through.

Vehicle Accident – No Injury: A woman reported that she was involved in a vehicle collision in the area of Humboldt Avenue and Foothill Avenue at 4:33 p.m.  An officer was advised and the information was logged.

Disturbing the Peace:  A male subject was reported yelling in the area of San Anselmo Avenue at approximately 5 p.m.  An officer responded and checked the area for the subject, but he was not located.

Friday, October 29

Suspicious Circumstances:  A woman reported that she could hear loud noises outside of her apartment on Red Hill Avenue at around 4 a.m. Officers responded and found the perimeter was secure.

Vehicle Accident – No Injury:  A report was called in at 4:10 a.m. that an ATV crashed in the area and was driving down the wrong side of the road on Red Hill Avenue. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate it.

Juvenile Laws: At 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a report that juveniles were in the area of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and throwing water balloons. Officer made contact with the juveniles who were warned and abated.
