Items stolen from unlocked cars

Sunday, Aug. 1

Vandalism: An officer found street signs at Meville and Austin in the bushes on Berkeley Avenue at 12:20 a.m.

Petty Theft: Someone went through a resident's car on Camino De Herrera the night before and stole miscellaneous items.

Grand Theft: Two bikes were stolen on Cordone Avenue in the previous few days.

Grand Theft: There was a theft from an unlocked car on Camino De Herrera.

Petty Theft: There was a theft from an unlocked car on Hillcrest Court.

Suspicious Person: An officer was flagged down by a resident reporting a suspicious subject on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 8:19 p.m.

Petty Theft: A cab driver said his fare said he had to wait until tomorrow to get paid and then went inside and closed the door and turned out the lights at 11:40 p.m. Officers determined the man did not have enough to pay the fare; he was issued a citation.

Saturday, July 31

Suspicious Person: A man was walking down San Anselmo Avenue at 4:08 a.m. screaming. Officers advised him to keep his voice down.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident though he saw four subjects breaking into a car on Vista Lane at 5:04 a.m. Officers responded and found nothing suspicious.

Vandalism: Two juveniles were seen possibly breaking another car's side view mirror at Laurel and Madrone Avenues at 7:37 a.m.

Grand Theft: Several items were taken from an unlocked car on Brookside Court. Officers were able to track down the man and made an arrest in San Rafael. He was booked into the county jail for numerous charges.

Reckless Driving: A driver made an illegal U-turn to park in a handicapped spot on San Anselmo Avenue.

Solicitor: A resident reported juveniles were in a parking lot on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard trying to sell items to passers by and refusing to leave at 5:08 p.m.
