San Anselmo Police Logs: Leaf Blower and Jackhammer Violations

Logs from Aug. 8 to Aug. 11. Arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 11

Disturbing the Peace: Reporting party on Park Way stated that her daughter was screaming in the street at 2:13 a.m. following a disagreement with her boyfriend. Officers responded and checked the area but were unable to locate the subject. Disposition: Unable to Locate.

Noise Abatement:  Officer initiated activity on El Cerrito at 3:55 p.m. Officer reported that he was checking the area for a loud noise, possibly an explosion. Officer was unable to locate the source.

Water Main Break: At 6:49 p.m. an individual reported water seeping up from the sewer grate on San Francisco Blvd. The Sanitary District was notified and said they would respond.

Suspicious Person:  Someone reported a man in the center median of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. at Ross Ave., screaming to himself.  Officers checked but the subject was gone.

Barking Dog: Someone reported a dog barking at a residence on Brookmead Place at 10:44 p.m.. Officer responded and arrived on scene as the house-sitter was getting home. Dog was taken inside.

Aug. 10

Fraud: A reporting party on Ross Ave. reported that his credit card company notified him that his card number was being used fraudulently. The party was contacted and declined a report at this time. He will be following up with the credit card investigator and will call back later if he needs a police report.

Found Property: A Community Service Officer was flagged down by a citizen on Magnolia Avenue to report a found wallet. The owner was contacted and picked up his property at the police department.

Municipal Code Violation: An anonymous caller reported a leaf blower in use on Tamalpais Avenue at 11:40 a.m. The officer responded but the responsible party was gone on arrival.

Municipal Code Violation: Occurred on Grove Ln, Sa. Anonymous RP reported a leaf blower in use at a location on Grove Lane at 11:48 a.m. Responsible was contacted and advised on the Municipal Code Violation.

Lost Property: Reporting party reported that she lost a pair of red prescription glasses on Sunday evening in the downtown area. 

Alarm: Alarm Company reported a silent duress alarm at a business on Red Hill Ave. Officer responded and determined it was accidental.

Municipal Code Violation: Reporting party reported a subject using a jack hammer at a residence on Redwood Road at 11:48 a.m. Officer made contact with the resident and advised of the ordinance.

Temporary Restraining Order: A woman reported that her ex-husband, who is restrained from the residence, climbed through the window and passed out in the master bedroom at approximately 8 p.m.  Officer responded and subject was arrested and booked for violating a court order. Disposition: Arrest Made.

Barking Dog:  A dog was reported barking at a residence on Fern Lane at 8 p.m. Officer responded and left a note for the RP reported a dog barking at the residence. Officer responded and left notice for the responsible.

Disturbing the Peace:  A man dialed 911 at 9:41 p.m. and stated that his wife hit him. Officers responded and contacted all parties. It was determined that there was no merit to any physical altercation. Male subject left the residence for the evening.

Public Intoxication/Protective Custody: A subject was reported attempting to gain access to a residence on San Rafael Ave at 10:14. It was determined that the subject was intoxicated and confused. Subject was transported to Helen Vine Detox.

Aug. 9

Municipal Code Violation: Officer-initiated activity at Red Hill Ave and Sequoia Ave. Officer removed one sign in violation of the Muni Code at 3:49 a.m.

Municipal Code Violation: Officer-initiated activity at Center Blvd. and /aunders Ave. At 11:25 a.m. a Community Service Officer removed 2 flyers in violation of the Muni Code.

Barking Dog: Anonymous person reported at 5 p.m. that dogs had been barking for several hours on San Francisco Blvd. Officer responded and observed the dogs; no nuisance was found.

Disturbing the Peace: A woman on Park Way reported a dispute between her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend at 6:15 p.m. Officers responded and found it to be a verbal altercation only. Parties were counseled.

Noise Abatement: Anonymous reporting party reported loud music that sounded like band practice in the area of Traxler Road. Officer responded and checked the area, but were unable to locate the noise.

Aug. 8

Suspicious Person: Someone reported a male subject was skateboarding in traffic at 12:15 a.m. Officers contacted the subject and advised him of the complaint and of traffic safety.

Municipal Code Violation: Officer-initiated activity at Center Blvd. and San Anselmo Ave. One sign removed.

Suspicous Circumstances: Reporting party on San Anselmo Ave. said a subject, who they hired for yard work recently, was loitering in the area. Officers responded but couldn’t locate the subject.

Suspicous Circumstances: Reporting party reported a beeping sound coming from a garbage can on the street. Officers responded and found a discarded fire alarm.

Alarm: Officers responded to an alarm at 1:18 p.m. on Red Hill Ave. and found a child playing with the keypad.

Juvenile Problem: A man on Olive Ave. reported at 5:54 p.m. he couldn’t locate his child and needed assistance.Officers located the child and he was reunited with his father. Nothing suspicious noted.

Barking Dog: At 7:46 p.m. an anonymous report came from a person on Broadmoor Ave. who said a dog was barking for the last 45 minutes. Officer responded and contacted the resident who was home; dog wasn't barking. Disposition: Unfounded.
