San Anselmo Police Logs: Stroller Stolen, Unattended Dog in Car, Cats Fighting

Thursday, October 27
Petty Theft: A stroller was reported stolen at around 4 p.m. in San Anselmo. The officer met with the reporting party at the police station and took a report.
Animal Call: An unattended dog was left in a vehicle and it was reported at 5:36 p.m. that it was panting heavily. Officer located the dog and found it was not in distress. Officer drove by periodically to ensure the dog was fine.

Burglary: It was reported at 7:57 p.m. that a box of jewelry and watches were stolen from a residence on Oak Avenue. Officer responded and a report was taken. Officer canvassed the area for suspicious activity.
Suspicious Circumstances: A woman reported that water balloons were thrown at her vehicle from a passing vehicle at Center Boulevard and Saunders Ave at 9:56 p.m. An officer checked the area, but was unable to locate anything suspicious.

Suspicious Circumstances: Someone reported that she could hear suspicious noises outside of her residence on Bennit Avenue at 10 p.m. Officers responded and found it was a family of raccoons.
Wednesday, October 26
Found Property: A suitcase was found on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and turned into the police department at 5:17 a.m.
Alarm: An alarm company reported an alarm to a residence on Laurel Avenue at 12:04 p.m. and two male subjects provided the incorrect code. Officers responded and confirmed it was user error by the resident.
Suspicious Circumstances: Someone reported that there was something in distress and crying in the area of Nokomis Avenue. Officers responded and determined it was two cats fighting.
Any Civil Problem: A caller reported that her husband saw their neighbor tear down a sign from their yard on San Anselmo Avenue at 1:08 p.m. Officer responded and advice was provided.
Hazard: A caller reported a possible fuel leak at his neighbor’s property on Smith Lane. An officer responded and contacted the owner who was on scene cleaning up the leak. Fire crews responded and evaluated the leak.
Tuesday, October 25
Suspicious Person: At 10 a.m. a Greenfield Avenue resident reported a male subject who has been camping illegally on the hillside. The reporting party contacted the subject this morning and asked him to move along and he refused. Officers responded and abated him from the area.
Municipal Code Violation: Someone reported a leaf blower violation at 4:54 p.m. on Brookside Drive. Officer responded but found it quiet on arrival.
Noise Abatement: A Ross Avenue resident reported several subjects were in their backyard, making a lot of noise and were using power tools. Officers responded and found it quiet on arrival. Subjects had dispersed and the responsible party was contacted and advised of the complaint
Monday, October 24
Municipal Code Violation: A Grove Lane resident reported a leaf blower violation. Officer responded and advised the subject of the town ordinance.
Parking Violation: At 3:44 p.m. someone reported 3 vehicles in violation of 12’ clearance on Redwood Road and San Anselmo Avenue. Officer responded and only found 1 vehicle present, which was in compliance.
Reckless Driving: Someone reported a reckless driver who was weaving, cutting other drivers off and driving at various speeds around the time of 5:17 p.m. on Center Boulevard. The driver was contacted and warned regarding his driving habits.
Hit and Run with Injury: A man reported that his son was hit by a vehicle earlier in the day on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Saunders Avenue. Officer met with the man and his son and a report was taken.
Solicitor: A Hawthorne Avenue resident reported a male subject came to the door around 8 p.m. claiming to be with PG&E and was trying to sell security equipment due to the rise in robberies in the area, according to him. Officers responded and checked the area, but couldn’t find the solicito
