San Anselmo Police: Storm Damage, Shots Fired, Three Car Collision

San Anselmo Police Logs: March 18-20

Sunday, March 20

Assist Fire: There were wires down on Madrone Avenue at 1:58 a.m. Officers responded with the fire department and the scene was secure.

Assist Fire: Wires were reported down on Buena Vista Avenue at 3:35 a.m. PG&E was notified and the scene was secured.

Wires Down: A wire was on the ground at Laurel and Myrtle Avenues at 8:06 a.m., but wasn’t arching. Officers moved the wires out of the road.

Tree Down: A tree fell and was partially on a house and vehicle on Alto Avenue at 8:25 a.m.

Storm-Related: An officer located a fence that was blown down by the storm on Ross Avenue at 8:37 a.m. Caution tape placed in the area.

Wires Down: A tree branch fell on wires on Medway Road.

Noise: There was an anonymous report of music blaring on Mariposa Avenue at 1:35 p.m.

Municipal Code Violation: A driveway on Grove Hill Avenue North was torn up and there was debris everywhere.

Animal: Two women were screaming on Florence Avenue at 3:16 p.m. and officers responded and determined a pitbull attacked a golden retriever, then bit its owner. The owner declines medical. Humane Society was called and they spoke to the owner, who was given information on the procedure. The injured dog was taken to the vet.

Suspicious Circumstances: Two men in a van were going around asking people if they could fix dents in people’s cars on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:27 p.m.

False Registration: While an officer was checking on two unoccupied parked cars on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 11:23 p.m., it was determined that one was displaying false registration.

Saturday, March 19

Shots Fired: A resident reported hearing one shot in the area on The Alameda at 12:42 a.m. Officer checked, but nothing was suspicious.

Suspicious Person: A mal subject was looking into a vehicle on Oak Knoll Avenue at 2:04 a.m. Officer checked the area, but the subject was gone.

Public Works Notification: A drainage grate was blocked on Laurel Avenue at 7:30 a.m.

Public Works Notification: Traffic lights at Broadmoor Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard weren’t working properly at 11:46 a.m.

Accident – Minor Injury: There was a collision at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Madrone Avenue at 2:32 p.m. with on party complaining of pain. Both cars were towed and the driver was checked for injury.

Suspicious Circumstances: Multiple residents reported a loud explosion in the area of Redwood Road and San Anselmo Avenue at 8:22 p.m.

Friday, March 18

Noise: There was a loud party on Brookmont Circle at 12:24 a.m.

Accident – Minor Injury: There was a three vehicle collision at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Oak Knoll Avenue at 8:25 a.m. Medics responded and evaluated the driver on the scene.

Driving without a License: At a traffic stop at San Anselmo and Grove Avenues at 11:02 a.m., a man was determined to be driving without a valid license.

Reckless Driving: There was a speeding car on The Alameda at 3:03 p.m.

Shoplifting: Officer took a report of shoplifting on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 5:22 p.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: There was a flashing white light on the outside of a residence on Austin Avenue at 8:28 p.m.
