Sewage Smells, Beer Drinkers and Teens Smoking Pot

The latest batch of the Fairfax Police blotter includes a vandalism at St Ritas School and two subjects climbing someone's fence.


Friday, May 24

Traffic Complaint / Problem: 08:17 Occurred at Oak Tree Apartments on Oak Tree Lane. RP advised he is a crossing guard. He advised the cable company has trucks parked on the sidewalk, and students have to walk in the street.

Garbage Complaint: 09:17 Occurred on Lansdale Av. A wagon full of garbage, covered with a tarp, parked for several months.

Assist Outside Agency: 14:33 Occurred at Taylor Dr/Rocca Dr. The RP (reporting person) advised of a couch left on the sidewalk.

Assist Outside Agency: 14:56 Occurred at Fairfax Town Hall on Bolinas Road. Citizen advised of water pooling on the foot path just east of Town Hall.

Driving Under the Influence: 22:19 Officer initiated activity at Post Office (Fairfax), Center Bl. A subject was arrested and booked to Marin County Jail for DUI. Disposition: Arrest Made.

Saturday, May 25

Suspicious Person: 01:08 Occurred at The Island Palm on Mono Av. Fairfax. Report of two subjects climbing the fence of RP's back yard. While officers were checking the area, a separate subject was contacted and arrested for public intoxication. Disposition: Arrest Made.

Alcohol Violation: 13:20 Occurred on Cascade Dr. Report of a group of subjects drinking what appeared to be beer. Officers responded and found no violations. Disposition: Unfounded.

Theft: 19:30 Occurred at QualityLiquors on Sir Francis Drake Bl. Theft of a Razor scooter.  

Miscellaneous Service: 20:55 Occurred at Post Office (Fairfax) on Center Bl. Smell of sewage. Disposition: Service Provided.

Suspicious Circumstances: 21:26  Occurred on Glen Dr, Fairfax. Report of an unlocked side door. Nothing appears out of the ordinary and does not feel anyone has been inside. Officer response not requested at this time, requested as documentation. 

Sunday, May 26

Any civil problem: 06:31 Occurred at Fairfax Police Department on Bolinas Rd. RP at PD lobby seeking advice about an ex-boyfriend. Disposition: Advice Given.

Vandalism: 08:32 Occurred on Bothin Rd. RP discovered that her driver side window was shattered this morning. Occurred sometime last night. Disposition: Report Taken.

Found Property: 10:00 Occurred at Peri Park on Park Rd. RP turned in a bracelet he found in the park.

Hit & Run Property Damage only: 11:46 Occurred on Meadow Wy. Driver side door is dented in. RP believes someone might have backed into it.

Vehicle Accident - Non Injury: 11:49 Occurred at Good Earth Natural Foods on Center Bl/Pastori Av. GrayVolvo vs black sedan. Volvo is in the Good Earth lot, black sedan parked across the street. Parties requested police response.

Noise Complaint: 12:59 Occurred at Rudy Contratti Field on Bank St. Complaint that the PA system is too loud at the ball field.

Skateboarding Violation: 13:50 Occurred on Park Rd. 6 skateboarders.

Welfare Check: 14:00 Occurred on Park Rd. RP confronted a subject sitting in his vehicle and asked if everything was ok. He said that he was scared, unk why. RP advised he had a pouch on his belt with what looked like a knife inside. Subject is in a white medium sized vehicle, no further description.

Noise Complaint: 15:14 Occurred on BerryTrl. RP is requesting an officer respond to her home and take a decibel reading of the music at the park.

Juvenile Problem: 17:14 Occurred at Porteous Av/Bolinas Rd, Fairfax. Refused RP advised of five or six teenaged males smoking marijuana. They were last seen on Bolinas Rd from Porteous, walking towards downtown.

Animal Complaint/Problem Misc: 19:24  Occurred on Redwood Rd. RP advised her medium sized black and gold dog has been missing for two hours.

Monday, May 27

Parking Complaint: 00:27 Occurred on Inyo Av, Fairfax. RP reports a white van parked on his private property. Unknown who it belongs to.

Vandalism: 03:28 Officer initiated activity at Broadway Hair Design, Broadway. Officer locates new vandalism to the side of the building. Disposition: Report Taken.

Vandalism: 11:06 Occurred at St Ritas School on Marinda Dr. Art Room that was vandalized last week, now has a smashed window and door. Disposition: Report Taken.

Lost/Stolen: 12:21 Occurred on Cascade Dr. Purple TREK 4500 bike with grey saddlebags stolen from in front of house sometime after 2000 hrs 5/26/13. Disposition: Advice Given.

Disturbance: 22:40 Occurred on Ridgeway Av. Juvenile son out of control, can be heard screaming & yelling in the background. Disposition: Service Provided.

Noise Complaint: 23:41 Occurred at Shady Brook Apartments on Merwin Av. Neighbor playing music loudly. Disposition: Responsibles advised of complaint.

Tuesday, May 28

DUI: 00:44 Occurred at Oak Manor 7-11 on Sir Francis Drake Bl. DUI driver struck some bushes driving into the parking lot. Disposition: Unfounded.
Trespassing: 01:51 Occurred on Manor Rd. Man seen trespassing in the yard. 

Suspicious Person: 13:21 Occurred on Marinda Dr. Two male subjects walking behind the property where the RP believes nobody should be walking. Headed sound on the hillside between Marinda and Vista Way. One has a backpack.

Hit & Run Property Damage only: 16:34 Occurred at Fairfax Library on Sir Francis Drake Bl. Rp's vehicle was scratched by another vehicle sometime between 1400 hours and 1630 hours.

Sleeper: 21:48 Occurred on Scenic Rd. Anonymous report of a vehicle parked for a week in the area. RP feels that someone is sleeping in it every night. She would also appreciate it being marked as abandoned if no one is contacted.
