Suspect using stolen credit cards arrested

San Rafael, San Anselmo coordinate sting

A San Anselmo man is under arrest after reportedly stealing and using the credit cards of another San Anselmo resident.

A San Anselmo resident reported to police early Saturday afternoon that items were stolen from his car, including credit and ATM cards. While officers were responding, the victim received information from his credit card company that recent charges were made in San Anselmo and San Rafael.

A police officer staked out a business in San Rafael based on the information and reported seeing a male suspect quickly enter and exit the business. The suspect then drove away in a white Infiniti, according to police.

The business owner immediately notified the San Rafael Police Department and verified the suspect has just entered and left in a white car. The San Anselmo officer watching the business stopped the car in San Rafael.

Jared Brent Gadoury, 30, from San Anselmo, was the driver of the vehicle and was the person observed entering and leaving the business, police said. An investigation revealed Gadoury was in possession of the stolen credit cards and receipts from the fraudulent purchases.

He was placed under arrest and booked into the county jail for burglary, possession of stolen property, fraudulent use of stolen credit cards, and possession of burglary tools.
