Teens Making Movie with Toy Guns Results in Police Call

Sunday, Jan. 8

Barking Dog: An anonymous caller reported a barking dog a midnight on Tamalpais Avenue. An officer responded and the dog continuously barked while at the residence. Dispatch left a message for a responsible and a notice was left at the residence.

Public Intoxication: An arrest was made at 2:48 a.m. at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Sais Avenue for public intoxication.

Vehicle Accident/Minor Injury: A motorcyclist reported he was cut off by a motorist and crashed on Bridge Avenue at 12:29 a.m. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Found Property: A citizen turned in a purse that was found on San Anselmo Avenue. It was placed into property lockup for safekeeping.

Driving Under the Influence. A caller reported that a man came into his business on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard while intoxicated and purchased alcohol. The reporting party followed the man and found the subject was attempting to locate his vehicle, but kept going to the wrong one. The caller then stated the man found his vehicle, and then drove off. Officers located the vehicle and enforced a traffic stop and the driver was arrested.

Saturday, Jan. 7

Suspicious Circumstances:  An officer responded to an anonymous report of a pounding noise in the area of Tamalpais Avenue.  Officer determined the noise was from construction works and they were advised of the construction hours ordinance.

Suspicious Circumstances: At 8:59 a.m., someone reported that there was a subject in the area that appeared to have a gun in his hand. While officers were en route, Fairfax PD called and advised that teenagers had called them earlier in the day, stating they would be filming, using toy guns. Upon arrival, contact was made with the subjects who were the same subjects filming a movie and were advised of the proper procedures.

Any Civil Problem: At the San Anselmo Police Department, a reporting requested an officer’s assistance during a custody exchange because she believed the father was drinking alcohol. Officer met with the father who had not been drinking and the custody exchange was completed.

Public Intoxication/Booking: On Greenfield Avenue, a report at 10:20 p.m. came in of a verbal altercation at a business between two subjects. Officer subsequently arrested an intoxicated subject.

Friday, Jan. 6

Suspicious Person: A woman called to report that someone was going through her neighbor’s garbage bin on Ross Avenue at around 8:44 a.m. Officers check the area but were unable to locate the subject.

Hit and Run with Property Damage: At approximately 4:43 p.m. a woman reported that her vehicle was involved in a hit and run collision on Calumet Avenue. Officer checked the area for the suspect vehicle but was unable to locate it.

Juvenile Laws: At 10:22 p.m. it was reported that a group of juveniles were setting off fireworks in the area of Crescent Road and Raymond Avenue. An officer responded and made contact with two juveniles who were released to their parents.
