McGlashan will be honored in recognition of the work he completed on behalf of the environment during his lifetime, WildCare officials said in a statement.

Karen Wilson, WildCare's executive director, believes that McGlashan's contributions to Marin County are synonymous with those of Elizabeth Terwilliger, the beloved Mill Valley naturalist and pioneer environmental educator whose memory is also commemorated through the award.

“Supervisor McGlashan was an incredible friend to WildCare, and we were all shocked and saddened by his sudden passing last year." she said. "Because of all the support he directed to WildCare and our mission, we wanted to take this opportunity to publicly honor his memory, and we believe the Terwilliger Environmental Award is the most fitting tribute we can make in memory of our friend and his legacy.”
