The County of Marin, Health and Human Services (HHS) Department invites interested members of the public to an open discussion forum on the General Assistance Program.
The open discussion forum will be held on Tuesday, April 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Marin County Office of Education: 1111 Las Gallinas Ave, in San Rafael.
“HHS staff will be highlighting changes to the General Assistance program over the past year, providing statistical data, and discussing current levels of service provision. We welcome community input on the program impact,” said Heather Ravani, Director of Social Services.
General Assistance (GA) is a County funded and administered program authorized by the California Welfare and Institutions Code section 1700. GA provides a basic monthly subsistence by means of a loan to qualified adults with no dependent children. The goal of the GA Program is to support development of long-term self sufficiency.
