Michael Rock, the town manager for Fairfax for the past four and a half years, will be leaving in June for a position with the city of Lomita, a city with a population of over 20,000 in Southern California.
Rock replaces Dawn Tomita who served as Lomita's City Manager/City Clerk for over 47 years and retired at the beginning of May.
A press release from the Town of Fairfax said,
We appreciate his service and wish him well. The Fairfax Town Council will be working with staff to implement a smooth transition and will be seeking new leadership for our remarkable and unconventional community.
In his resignation letter, Rock said he was proud of the town's accomplishments during his tenure, including the Fairfax Bike Spine Project, Pastori Sidewalk Project, Oak Manor Sidewalk Project and the Sir Francis Drake Bike Lane Striping Project.
Rock's last day is set for June 23.
