Gavin Newsom Moves to Kentfield

Ex-mayor finds a home in the hills of Ross Valley.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported this morning that the Lt. Gov. and former San Francisco mayor purchased a home in Kentfield and would be moving to our neck of the woods "soon."

Gavin and Jennifer Siebel Newsom sold their Ashbury Heights home back in June and moved in with Seibel Newsom's family in their Ross estate. The couple had been, reportedly, close to renting in the Presidio (gasp), but fell in love with a home in the hills of Kentfield.

So, where are the Newsom twosome settling down?

A search of the Marin County Assessor-Recorder records shows that the pair were granted a deed from the Paulette and Mark Garwood Trust and a deed of trust from Union Bank on Nov. 18.

Blockshopper lists the Garwoods as having put their three-bedroom home at 11 Rock Rd. in Kentfield up for sale in August for $2.395 million. That home was reportedly sold for $2.145 million and is now off the market.

Could that be where our state's second-in-command is making his home?

I am having a hard time with this bit of news; it's not really news and more speculation/gossip. I guess if this was categorized under "society pages" I wouldn't have questioned it. I clicked on it expecting An interview with one or both of the Newsoms.
I am also wondering if it is legal to reprint all of these facts. The assessor records are public record, but there are laws about reprinting.

Hmm, there was another comment on this article that disappeared and I'm not sure where it went or why.
Sorry you don't think this is news. There isn't a society page on Patch, so it's just here. The Newsoms moving back here has implications for other political races and for how involved they'll be on a local level, so I don't think it's not news. And yes, it's legal to run facts.

A quick call to the Assesor's office confirms this, you can legally disseminate these particular kind of public records. Somehow it still feels like an invasion of their privacy, but I suppose they are used to that.

It's news to me and something I am interested to know. Thanks for running the story. If it is not news to someone why bother posting about it?

It is not news until it is confirmed. The writer did not verify with the Newsoms if/when they would be moving to San Anselmo. The headline is misleading; it is speculation.

I went to the Smashburger in Novato & have to say that it was a disappointing experience. TheRead More burger was very mediocore & the onion rings were awful-very greasy. The staff were not friendly & operated with a "Bambi in the headlights" look about them. I do wish Smasburger luck in their locations. However, from my perspective there is a good deal of work that still needs to be done with the food, staff & service. At this time, "In & Out" Burger is a "hand's down favorite...thanks
