Plenty of Applicants for the MMWD Board

Fairfax Councilman Ryan O'Neil and an aide to Supervisor Steve Kinsey are among the community members who want to replace David Behar on the Marin Municipal Water District Board.

 

There are plenty of Ross Valley community members who would like to be the newest Marin Municipal Water District board member. 

The Marin Independent Journal has reported that 14 people have applied to fill the position of David Behar, who recently resigned because he is moving outside District 3 boundaries to Corte Madera.

The applicants include:

  • Fairfax Councilman Ryan O’Neil
  • Woodacre resident Liza Crosse, an aide to Supervisor Steve Kinsey
  • San Anselmo resident Barry Spitz, an author and Dipsea Race historian
  • Fairfax resident Peter Lacques, who ran for the MMWD board in 2012
  • Kentfield resident Basia Crane, an anti-tax crusader
  • Ross resident Robert Twiss
  • Greenbrae resident Joel Cohen
  • San Rafael resident Charles Gardiner
  • Greenbrae resident Thomas Berliner
  • Fairfax resident Jacquie Phelan, a well-known mountain biker
  • Fairfax resident Kiki La Porta, president of Sustainable Marin
  • Fairfax resident Pat Echols
  • Greenbrae resident Tamara Hull
  • Lagunitas resident Alex Easton-Brown, who ran for the state assembly in June

The board will appoint a new member by Jan. 9, according to the IJ
