POLL: Who Do You Favor for Congress?

There are 12 names on the ballot, but only two advance to the general election in November. Let us know your favorite in this Patch Poll.

The June 5 election is just under a month away, with several important items on the ballot and a primary contest between no fewer than 12 listed candidates for 2nd Congressional District, stretching from the Golden Gate to the Oregon borer - the "New Two."

Jared Huffman, now representing Marin in the State Assembly, is widely regarded as the front-runner in this election. So the real race is for second place, as the top two finishers will  face off in the November general election, regardless of party.

Will it be Susan Adams, currently serving as Marin County Supervisor, and representing District 1 (San Rafael)? Or Norman Solomon, a long-time anti-war activist and author in his first race? Or perhaps Stacey Lawson, a newcomer to politics?

While those four poll in highest numbers, you are encouraged to vote for your own choice here. A list of all candidates and issues with more information about some of them is available on the smartvoter.org website here.

Remember this is a non-scientific poll; final results may differ. All candidates are listed below, in alphabetical order. Please vote for one, once, to help us take the temperature of the Marin County electorate, one month out.

Is anybody else here getting multiple e-mail notifications of new comments by Jo Tog, and thenRead More clicking the link, only to find that they are actually old comments from Jo Tog, but with today's date on them? What's the deal? Did all his comments get flagged and deleted, and now he's re-posting them? Most curious.

Jo Trog, we live in a Corporatocracy, not a republic. We abdicated the Republic after 9/11, if notRead More before. Know the difference.

Banning the sale in a free market economy is too strong. I believe people should be able to chooseRead More so long as the product is labeled correctly, and even placed in a section with a big sign that says "GM Food products". Would I buy it if I pass the section at the grocery store: NO.
