Sanitary Rate Increases, Master Fees, and School Budgets

Supervisors and San Anselmo Town Council consider sanitary rate increases today. School district meets tonight to talk about communication.

The Marin County Board of Supervisors meet at 9 a.m. in the Supervisors Chambers at the Civic Center. Among a number of items on the agenda, is a hearing on a possible rate increase for Marin Sanitary Service customers in unincorporated Marin -- including Ross Valley.

The map at right shows the different service areas, with Ross Valley South (Sleepy Hollow) and Ross Valley North (Kentfield, Greenbrae) labeled. The different areas are considered differently by the independent rate reviewers Hilton Farnkopf & Hobson, who also did the rate studies for San Anselmo and Fairfax. San Anselmo is also considering a rate increase tonight.

The full rate review can be seen at right as well, which in conclusion proposes a 4.84% increase.
