Surprise Winner in Readers' Choice for Mother's Day Brunch

Ross Valley residents have weighed in and chosen a winner for . Just in time, too - Mother's Day is May 13, just 10 days away. Better make your reservations now.

Although two places tied in poll votes, the winner based on two five-star ratings and two reviews was in Fairfax. "Great place for breakfast and their Eggs Benedict is amazing!" said one reviewer, while another said "This place is a gem!"

We ran an and their Zydeco menu not long after they opened. As well as breakfast and brunch, the Hummingbird offers coffee, rice, beans, gumbo, and sandwiches among its wide range of dishes.

Second place finisher was , and we must give props here since it was added to the poll following user suggestion and still equaled the Hummingbird in votes. But the winners of these Readers Choice contests is based on reviews and ratings as well as poll voting, and while someone did give it a 5-star rating, it had no reviews.  See how it works?
