Could you pass the STAR tests?

With just 40 percent of Drake High School students achieving proficiency in math, according to the latest STAR results, the number of our students who can meet state goals in math is far below what it should be. This often leaves parents and community members, who are unfamiliar with the tests, curious what exactly the students were tested on.

At right in the photo gallery you will find sample STAR questions from the State Department of Education in a variety of high school math subjects that are all required in order to achieve proficiency. Would you be proficient in high school math? Answers at the bottom of this page.
