Eco-Friendly Garden Tour to Protect and Conserve Water

The Marin County Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program, Marin Municipal Water District(MMWD), North Marin Water District, and the Marin Independent Journal are offering a self-guided tour of over 25 Marin gardens that demonstrate eco-friendly principles.

It will highlight such features as rainwater catchment, edible landscapes, lawn conversions, urban hens, drought tolerant plants, smart controllers, and pesticide free gardens.“These gardens prove that you can have a landscape that is beautiful and unique—and gentle on the environment,” said Dan Carney, MMWD Water Conservation Manager. “Folks will find plenty of inspiring ideas for their own gardens.”

All gardens are hosted by a landscape professional or homeowner– instrumental in the garden’s design and/or maintenance. They will be available throughout the day to respond to questions from visitors.
