When we develop our capacity for skillful living, we discover that it is possible to feel a sense of well-being in daily life regardless of whether life is pleasant or difficult. In his new book Emotional Chaos to Clarity: How to Live More Skillfully, Make Better Decisions, and Find Purpose in Life, Phillip Moffitt maps out the journey from being caught in the contraction and turmoil of emotional reactivity to the openness and clarity of living with a responsive mind.

In this daylong based on his book, Phillip will guide you through a process of personal inquiry to identify where emotional chaos is affecting your life. Then he will introduce Buddhist practices and essential life skills such as setting priorities and identifying intentions that can profoundly improve your ability to make good decisions, skillfully navigate challenging relational issues, and find peace of mind and heart even in the face of difficulty.

The day will include sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks, small group discussions, and participatory exercises. This exploration of Buddhist teachings and practices combined with skillful living strategies can help you develop the capacity to abide in the vantage point of a responsive mind and experience the joy and peace that are always already here.

As Jack Kornfield says about Emotional Chaos to Clarity: "Be inspired by the possibilities that it opens. Be strengthened by the guidance it offers in decision making. Be surprised by the illumination that comes when you contrast your ideals with your actual days. And be encouraged in the midst of your life challenges by the power and love that comes when you see and live by your highest intentions."

Phillip is offering this day as a benefit for Spirit Rock.

I went to the Smashburger in Novato & have to say that it was a disappointing experience. TheRead More burger was very mediocore & the onion rings were awful-very greasy. The staff were not friendly & operated with a "Bambi in the headlights" look about them. I do wish Smasburger luck in their locations. However, from my perspective there is a good deal of work that still needs to be done with the food, staff & service. At this time, "In & Out" Burger is a "hand's down favorite...thanks
