Feldenkrais & Mature Behavior
The Feldenkrais Method® is a gentle non-invasive method based on neuroscience using movement to send new information to the brain that creates new neural pathways improving all areas of your life, be it physical, emotional or mental.
Moshe Feledenkrais's work addresses the deeper issues of compulsion in movement than what is perceived at first glance. Physical movement in both its limitations and freedom clues one into the emotional and intellectual state of a person. Compulsive behavior is simply a repetitive habit that comes not from choice, but a pattern that may have outlived its usefulness and freshness. Habits are body patterns and belief systems of who we think we are in relation to self and others.
Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement® introduces people to new ways of moving. By bringing awareness to the body's movement, one can see the difference between compulsion and spontaneity. Add curiosity to the process of how habits are created, continued and changed, one can then penetrate one's consciousness.
