Make a WORM Bin - Sunday, May 6

Join Sustainable Fairfax to learn how worms can turn garbage into garden gold!  Worms are one of nature’s most important recyclers.  Worm composting is simple, low-cost and can be done year round.  Worm bins are odorless and don’t require much space.

In this hands-on workshop given by KENN HIRSCHBERG, an urban vermiculture expert, you will be building your own worm bin, learning about the proper care of worms, and discovering the secrets of making worm tea. Kenn operates Wiggle Worm Factory which provides a means to go organic at a low-cost.

Cost:  $50 - Includes everything you need to make an approx 24"x18"x12" worm bin and enough worms to get you started. We have a limited number of wooden kits, so please register early! Or, bring your own lidded 5-gallon plastic bucket & transform it into a worm bin for a cost of $25)
