Learn how to create sustainable and abundant gardens with easy-to-grow plants that save water and attract birds and butterflies, at a talk and tour by Marin Master Gardeners. The class begins with an illustrated talk at the San Rafael Library, followed by a guided tour of four demonstration gardens at Falkirk Cultural Center (across the street). The gardens range in style from dramatic succulents to shady oak woodlands, flowering bird and bee gardens and plantings of bold beauties from South America, Australia and other Mediterranean climates. Get answers to your questions and find out about “best gardening practices” as you enjoy a morning on the beautiful Falkirk grounds.
In the historic greenhouse at Falkirk there will be a sale of Succulent and Mediterranean Plant Dish Gardens from the gardens at Falkirk from noon to 1:00 p.m. Orchids and Master Gardener raised tomatoes will also be offered for sale.
