Writing Fantasy & Science Fiction: A Free Workshop for High School Students

Malinda Lo, author of the young adult novels, Ash, and Huntress, will conduct a two-session writing workshop for high school students.  She will cover the main elements of writing fantasy and science fiction, from how to create three-dimensional fantasy worlds to the basics of plot, to how to develop characters, and how to revise drafts. This workshop will also include opportunities for students to write and share their own work.

Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required for this free workshop.  Students must be in grades 9-12 and sign up for both days.  To sign up, visit or call the Fairfax Library:  415.457.5629

This event is supported by Poets & Writers, Inc. through a grant it has received from The James Irvine Foundation and by The Friends of the Marin County Free Library.
