The School Year in Review

These are the achievements the district had this year.

The Ross Valley School District has its final day of classes next week, but before the year ends, they wanted to celebrate all the district had achieved for 2010-11. It's been a big year for the Ross Valley schools. A letter went out to all parents (attached at right) highlighting some of those achievements.

Among them:

  • Parent Clubs and PTAs held 15 education nights over the year.
  • RVSD was the first school district to participate in the Human Race -- raising $10,000.
  • Nine teachers and staff visited other state of the art schools to learn about 21st century learning environments.
  • The district was selected as an earlier adopter for the California Education and the Environment Initiative.
  • Cool the Earth teams won first place in Whole Foods recycling contest - earning a 5 cent bag rebate for three months.
  • completed the Communitree project, dedicated to Sammy Dean.
