Every Wednesday, we honor a Whiz Kid of the week for outstanding achievements. Do you know a kid who just made Eagle Scout? Aced a hard test? Led their SABA team to victory? Don't forget to ! Email kellyd@patch.com.

This week's Whiz Kid comes to us from White Hill, where he helps with Drama Club and plays in the band, and was nominated by his mom.

GREAT DEED: Miles doesn't just play tuba and act in school plays (he was Long John Silver in Treasure Island), he also helped found the Drama Club at White Hill last year.

And, he's taken his passion for creativity a step further, making nearly 40 puppets in the last six months, using foam, felt, fabric, and even a baby-sized tuxedo.

Miles decided to bring his puppeteering to the people, getting friends to join him in a puppet act at the upcoming talent show in April. The Rocky Horror Picture Show, for which he built the puppets, will be a lip-sync to "The Time Warp."

KEY TO AWESOMENESS: After Miles became interested in puppets, he sought the help of David Goelz -- a Muppeteer who lives in the area. Goels suggested new materials and techniques, which helped inspire Miles with new ideas.

Miles says it's the willingness of other people to join in, help, and support him that has helped feed his creativity. He gives back to the community too, participating in Wham -- a program where eighth-graders give advice to sixth-graders -- and winning an Integrity Award from his teachers.
