Pictures of Fairfax Fire at the Watershed

A little excitement in Fairfax today as a wildfire billowed smoke into the Ross Valley. What will you do in a major fire if you are in one of our canyons or on a hill with limited egress?

Folks were a little edgy today with the smoke from the wildfire between Deer Park and Lake Lagunitas, the sirens from the trucks, and the planes and whirleychoppers buzzin' around dropping red flame-killing "stuff" and water.

Here are some picture I took from the top of Oak Manor hill. A big thank you to all the folks who jumped on this fire and contained it quickly, on this fine blustery day. It is a good reminder for all of us to keep reducing the fire loads around our communities, and to have a good evacuation plan for the day when a fire gets out of hand.
