Question for the Community: Do We Value Our Teachers and Children?

Howdy folks. I want to bring up for your attention the detail of teachers and staff, and their own kids in the system. Currently, teachers have no seniority to get their own children into the schools which they teach in. I believe that they should have an automatic in to the school and/or program of their choice for their kids, or at least to whichever school they happen to work/teach at.

For all they do and give to our district, we owe them some perks here 'n there. Yes I know it will impact numbers a little, and just how many of our children are they teaching? They work here, and put in their time, and it is not like many people have five kids. It is a small price over the length of a teacher's career. Keep 'em happy and they will stay longer and be more connected to our local community.

We, as a society, seem to value war, waste, and out-of-line profits, above the health of our communities and I believe we should change this.

I say let's pay teachers, farmers, and folks who produce real wealth, prosperity, and security. Let the bankers, and arms dealers go begging for the nonsense and mischief and cake they find so enticing. Eh?

Can someone bring this up at the school board meeting?
