After 49ers Loss to Seahawks, Marin Couple Complains that Seattle Fans Were Too Loud

Point Reyes Station couple proposes a rule that the visiting team may stop the game when fan noise is greater than a specified decibel level.

On the heels of the Seattle Seahawks' 29-3 pummeling of the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday, one West Marin couple has had enough.

Not with the 49ers' defense giving up 29 points, the Niners' anemic running game or quarterback Colin Kaepernick throwing three interceptions – but with the volume with which the Seahawks fans were screaming for their team.

In a letter to the editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, Rich Schiller and Judy Spelman of Point Reyes Station wrote that they were appalled at the noise at the stadium.

They proposed a rule change: "The visiting team may stop the game when fan noise is greater than a specified decibel level, and should this rule be violated in more than three games, no home games will be played at the offending field for the rest of the season, including playoff games. Things would quiet down."
