Lion of Fairfax Cyclocross Race and Short Track Swashbuckler Race

Oct. 1 sees the return of the Lion of Fairfax Cyclocross race. This is Big Swingin' Cycles' sixth year organizing this great fundraising event for the Ross Valley schools. This year, they're adding a short track mountain bike race, the Swashbuckler Short Track, benefiting mountain biking. Here's a great chance to race your bike for two great causes!

Join other cyclists in sunny Fairfax for an action-packed day of cyclocross racing. ALL proceeds from this event will benefit in Fairfax, including the school's unique mountain bike club. There are categories for everyone.

Starting at 4 p.m., after the Lion of Fairfax cyclocross event, is pleased to present the first-ever Swashbuckler Short Track (SST) mountain bike race. This event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. and include a BBQ dinner.

Get ready for some electrifying short track dirt racing-- course features will include pump track sections with burm turns and rythym sections, stair drops, abrupt grade changes, and even a cheering section routed through the BBQ area.

Proceeds from the event will help fund Drake High School's effort to defend their 2 in 2012. See the "Swashbuckler Short Track" online registration page for details.
