George Lucas’ Daughter Really Has ‘The Force’ in MMA

The filmmaker’s adopted kid, a martial arts champion, is featured in a new documentary.

Nicknamed “Powerhouse,” Amanda Lucas has been pummeling the competition in the Japanese mixed martial arts league known as DEEP. A year ago, she was crowned champion after beating Yumiko Hotta in the third round.

Her story has become a documentary in the hands of Bobby Razak, who besides being a movie director is also a martial arts buff. The film is set for release later this year.

Lucas has had cameo appearances in a few of her father’s movies, but she’s reportedly come into her own as a fighter. At 31 years of age, she has a 5-1 record, with the only loss being her first official match.

She is the daughter of George and ex-wife Marcia Lucas, adopted during their marriage. She had bit parts in all three of the “Star Wars” prequels.

Lucas was knocked out in the third round of her 2008 pro MMA debut but rebounded the following year with a unanimous decision victory to even her record. She earned the title last February.

Hey Chris, thanks for writing the story about Amanda. My only question/comment is regarding the need to refer to Amanda as George's adopted daughter. A family is a family. No need for the qualifier. Thanks.

I wonder if the being adopted quotient has any part in the documentary? While Amanda undoubtedly landed in a good home, a lot of people that were adopted struggle with this.

Adoption is not part of the story, would you mention "daughter by birth", how you became a family is irrelevent to her accomplishments.

"Daughter with lots of money" might make a good byline. I have zero respect for any Lucas relative, bio or not. But that is just me, who did not see any of his movies, by choice. Better to leave her adoptive parent out of it. You only ran the story because of the fame link. Right? Why not show a picture of her, she must be better looking.
