Kaefer Stars on Mound, in Outfield in West Marin Win

The Little League's 9-10 All-Stars rebound from an opening loss to edge Novato South thanks in part to a game-ending throw from Jonas Kaefer at the right field fence to second base for an out.

The West Marin Little League 9-10 All-Stars bounced back from an opening defeat Saturday to outlast Novato South 10-7 in an exciting contest Sunday at Dunphy Field at Hamilton Air Force Base.

West Marin banged out nine hits and got very good pitching from Jayden Enclade and Jonas Kaefer. Eric Woodrow closed out the game.

The West Marin hitting was well distributed throughout the lineup. Woodrow led the way with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.

Eamonn Lance was stellar behind the plate for all three West Marin pitchers.

The game ended on an exciting assist from Kaefer, the right fielder, from the fence to nail a Novato South runner trying to stretch a solid hit into a double.

11-12-Year-Old All-Stars

Junior Division All-Stars

Results: San Francisco 19, West Marin 13; West Marin vs. Twin Cities, score unavailable.

9-10-Year-Old All-Stars

Coach Scot Lance’s thoughts: "Our boys are still playing with some butterflies in the field because we have a pretty solid defensive club. We were fortunate our bats came alive because teams don't usually win after committing 10 errors."
