Intersection Near Phoenix Lake Closed This Week

Daytime closure in popular hiking and biking area is to replace culverts.

Parts of two roads near Phoenix Lake, in unincorporated Marin County, will be closed during the day this week due to construction on a culvert, according to the Marin Municipal Water District.

The intersection of Phoenix Lake Road and Worn Spring Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the district said.

The work is part of a five localized closures planned between now and July to replace culverts.

The larger culverts will perform better in storms, the district said.

The work was initially scheduled for late May to early June, but was postponed in part to avoid disturbing nesting northern spotted owls and to meet other environmental requirements.
