Introduction to Sustainable Fairfax Youth Blog

Hello Patch Readers,

My name is Elise and I am currently an intern at Sustainable Fairfax. I go to an alternative program in the Tam District for juniors called Team. My class works throughout the bay area, volunteering at different organizations. So far this year, my class has volunteered at Glide and traveled to the Sierra to build wilderness leadership skills. However we also work every Tuesday independently with a non-profit of our choice. I personally am interested in environmental sustainability, so I chose to volunteer with Sustainable Fairfax.

Sustainable Fairfax is a small non-profit; we work throughout the community to educate the people of Marin on how to make eco-friendly choices. Presently we are working on Zero Waste by 2020. To help with this project I am currently working on a composting campaign and will be traveling around Fairfax educating people on composting. To find more about this project, please read my next post.
