MCBC Route 5 Passport: Shop and Dine by Bike in Marin and Be Rewarded

New program awards people for riding a bike in Marin County.

Check out the Marin County Bicycle Coalition's (MCBC) newest bicycling program this May through July – the Route 5 Passport. Pick up a Passport at bike shops, MCBC-sponsored rides and events, at the 92 participating businesses, and in 1,400 free Bike to Work Day tote bags given out on May 12.

MCBC has partnered with 92 businesses in central Marin to offer unique deals for people who ride their bikes to shop, to dine and for entertainment. Some of the deals include buy one, get one free at Tully's Coffee, Peet's Coffee and Double Rainbow; 50 percent off a LG or XL pizza at Pizza Orgasmica; and a free bag of popcorn at the Rafael Theater.

Route 5 is Marin County's north/south bicycle artery parallel to Highway 101. To help people discover the bicycle route and its connecting routes, MCBC is hosting a variety of rides May through July, including a ride to the Food Truck Crush at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal, Film Night in the Park and a Giants game in San Francisco.
