Johnny Cash Tribute Band Plays for Food Pantry Fund-Raiser

Rusty Evans and Ring of Fire will headline the first anniversary of the Fairfax Food Pantry in a benefit dance party at the Fairfax Community Church.

For a full year, thehas distributed over 2000 pounds of food weekly to the hungry families in town, from their distribution point at the Fairfax Community Church.  To celebrate, they're holding a on Thursday, May 17 - with live rockabilly from Rusty Evans in his tribute to country music icon Johnny Cash.

Driving rhythms on Evans' amplified acoustic Martin guitar are augmented by the energetic three-piece band Ring of Fire. A hot rockin' lead guitar, driving bass and drums create the powerful and irresistible Johnny Cash signature sound, a pulse that drives folks right to the dance floor.

People often comment on how much Rusty actually looks like the Man in Black. He's honored by the compliment and destined to continue in the spirit of the country music legend he holds in such high regard.

"I met the Man in Black in the 1960's and was totally inspired," says Evans. "Not to mention that Bob Dylan once told me long ago I sounded like Cash."

The event will be held on Thursday, May 17, at where the food pantry holds their weekly distribution on Saturday mornings. Doors open 7 p.m.  and the show starts at 7:30. $15 Advance Tickets for the event can be purchased online for $15 or $20 at the door if available.

I went to the Smashburger in Novato & have to say that it was a disappointing experience. TheRead More burger was very mediocore & the onion rings were awful-very greasy. The staff were not friendly & operated with a "Bambi in the headlights" look about them. I do wish Smasburger luck in their locations. However, from my perspective there is a good deal of work that still needs to be done with the food, staff & service. At this time, "In & Out" Burger is a "hand's down favorite...thanks
