Week Ahead: Elections,‘Elevator Pitch’ Training and a Bonsai Show

When: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Where:  Visit marincounty.org to find the precinct nearest you.

San Anselmo voters will elect four members to its Town Council. Three are running unopposed for full four-year terms, and three others are running for an open two-year seat to replace appointee Liz Dahlgren.

Fairfax voters will elect three candidates from a field of four vying for four-year terms.

 

Wednesday

Fairfax Town Council Meeting

When: 7 p.m.

Where:  The Women's Club (46 Park Rd., Fairfax)

Regular Town Council meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month.

 

Perfecting Your ‘Elevator Pitch

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Renaissance Marin (1115 Third Street, San Rafael)

Learn to articulate your thoughts on the fly. This two-hour workshop is geared towards public speaking engagements ranging from 10-minute presentations to 30-second “elevator pitches.”

 

Thursday

First Thursday Coffees

When: 10 a.m.

Where: Club Restaurant at McInnis Park Golf Center (east end of Smith Ranch Road, San Rafael)

This informal event is for members, volunteers, and those interested in finding out more about Marin Villages, a community working to help Seniors stay in their homes. A coffee will be held the first Thursday of every month.

 

Friday

Marin Bonsai Club 2013 Fall Bonsai Show

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Marin Art and Garden Center (30 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Ross)

Listen to experts and learn more about this fascinating art form as 50 bonsai trees, many in fall color will be showcased at this event.
