The Fairfax Police Department has just one station and 16 full-time employees that oversee all the public safety activities in the town. The department is headed by Police Chief Ken Hughes. Along with basic crime prevention and traffic monitoring work, the police also provide fingerprinting services to the public and work on community education and readiness campaigns. The office, located at Town Hall in Bolinas Park, is open 24 hours a day, per a stipulation passed to fund public safety services (originally called Measure F).
