The San Anselmo Police Department, next to the Town Hall, provides all police, detective, and traffic services in San Anselmo. The Department has 19 officers and 7 other staff members that oversee operations and dispatch. Along with crime and safety services, the Department is involved in the community through education and awareness campaigns. Residents can visit the department's Web site to get access to forms for street closures, parking permits (including permits for overnight parking), and information about topics such as, dogs barking and Halloween safety. Another feature of the Web site that residents can use is access to a service called Nixle, which updates users to breaking news alerts and crime occurrences in their towns.
