Founded in 1850, San Domenico is a private school located on 500 acres at the end of Butterfield Road, in Sleepy Hollow. The school, founded by Catholic sisters, includes a co-ed preschool through 8th grade day-school program and a girls' boarding high school program. The campus, surrounded by lush hills and open space, is known particularly for its Music-Virtuoso Program and Riding School. International students come to attend the music program.

Tuition ranges from $9,975 for the half-day preschool program to $42,800 for the high school boarding program. Some financial assistance is provided, which students can apply for. There is an extensive application process and students can visit the campus before applying.

In addition to the schools' programs, the campus is also used for summer camps, horse riding classes at the riding school, and a number of community events. In 2008, the school unveiled an extensive solar system to help power the campus' energy use.
