This sounds like a blast and I'm planning on going. One question though - how are people gonna get…Read More up there? There's not nearly enough parking anywhere on the front side of Tam to accommodate this many people. Shuttle buses? Teleportation? Everyone has to ride their bike? How will this happen?

Weir as part owner needs to understand that a low ceiling and mirrored-back bar will make noise…Read More regardless of the Meyer system. No excuses for louts but silence is not going to happen in that venue. Something to think about when adding up the night's bar receipts. If people were over the top lame, that's one thing, but hushed reverence requires a closed bar.

While I think that Weir was wrong to use obscenities like that, I think the problem is the venue and…Read More management's lack of responsibility. Generally people sitting at bars are there to drink, and drunk people are generally not the most quiet nor respectful audience, especially for an acoustic set. This is the case whether they're yuppies, bankers, or Dead Heads (who may have been stoned as well), and whether you're in Mill Valley, Fairfax, San Francisco, or anywhere else.

To blame Hip Hop and Rap is ridiculous. We do have a generation of young people who are entitled…Read More and don't know how to behave because their parents never told them no, but that's not Hip Hop culture, that's wealthy white culture, and that is young Marin. I wasn't at this show, so I can't say who it actually was that was being rude, but I'm pretty sure it probably wasn't the hip hop or rap crowd at a Dead show. I was at a Charles Brown concert at Cafe Du Nord years ago, just before he died and the same thing happened where he had to repeatedly tell a younger (late 20s- who would be early 40s now) group in the audience to be quiet. You don't talk during theater, you don't talk during a symphony or an opera, you should show the same respect for all performers. If you want to go somewhere and have a chat go to a bar or restaurant, not a show.

This whole deal makes me remember some idiotic things I did along these lines in my twenties....grew…Read More up in LA....and a stage production of The Iceman Cometh with Jason Robards came to town and an actor buddy had very hard to get tickets...being the 80's he also had a a prodigious amount of cocaine because the show was SIX HOURS LONG....if you know that particular recreational drug, you um, tend to blab...we thought we were whispering until Jason Robards glared at our dumbasses before continuing the play....we were asked to leave and I believe we ended up The Whiskey, still blabbing! Live and learn.

Awwww, people suffering all around the world, going hungry, dying and that cunt thought it was…Read More heartbreaking that ugly 'ole Bob left in a huff. Perhaps it's because Bob sucks ass? Always has, always will. I'd talk through it too. Loudly. While throwing rotten fruit.

I so agree with Jan! We are so fortunate that he is now dedicating his fortune, immense creativity…Read More and incredible intellect to helping others - via the park, his educational foundation and now this museum. Can't wait to see what he does next!

George Lucas is a prince among men and super hero in my book for all he has done and is planning to…Read More do to make Marin and Presidio a better place.

Does the Huffington Post decide Patch content? I notice Arianna Huffington is still the…Read More editor even though it was sold to AOL. Is that why we picked up this article? If you read the comments from the original article they are nothing short of disgusting.
I think what each community wants from Patch is different. On the website for the Huff Post drinking article they could care less about the impact of drinking games on teen alcohol use. It is a totally different audience from Novato or even Marin.

I also agree as well as cannot believe they post basically that staying home means you live in…Read More poverty. Kind of racists. A lot of people choose to be responsible and drink at home rather than drive. I know they wrote" lassitude or poverty", but we all know what they are leaning to.
Gilda Harger February 24, 2013 at 02:27 pm
A poor journalistic choice: I absolutely agree with the comments above. There are more creative ways…Read More to enjoy the oscars. Emphasizing "drinking to excessiveness" is not the best choice. Think about your choice of words for a better headline.

hard to believe anyone would go to listen to this woman. She was a part of our war machine executive…Read More team system that has so much of the world hating us (and with good cause). She is as much to blame (and I believe she is a criminal) for continuing our imperialistic foreign policy as is Hilary Clinton whom so many claim to admire. Women or men they are all responsible for so many deaths. Pitiful.
