Just another stupid, poorly written article by the patch. BUT...if that's the way it really wentRead More down...I call for Cusimano's termination! And I've known him since his diaper days. Gary...what in the hell is going on, down there in Corte madera!!!

The HIPAA law prevents revealing the name of the Tiburon man, so authorities have to withhold it,Read More and it would be illegal for Patch to report it.
novato 3per July 20, 2014 at 12:29 pm
HIPAA only covers the hospital releasing that information, no? I don't think it prohibits policeRead More reports from becoming public information. Am I wrong?

Next up is the Post Office. Then we hit the Federal Interstate Highway Administration. God onlyRead More knows how much the roads are used to transport drugs. Then we outlaw water. You need this to grow pot. Maybe it's just easier to go after the guy with the drugs only.
Jack Shmollie July 19, 2014 at 08:16 pm
Drugs that people need , are often available online for 30 to 40 % cheaper than the U.S.Read More establishment suppliers .It has to be delivered somehow .
Elvis July 20, 2014 at 02:57 pm
it's a witch hunt. plain and simple. it is important to know that any time someone has somethingRead More illegal to ship who are they gonna call ? not ghosbusters, either USPS, UPS or fed ex. the shippers cannot be held responsible.
Sierra Salin July 18, 2014 at 10:12 pm
And what a bunch of B.S, and they are both macho idiots. 1. If someone is on your tail and wants toRead More get by, all you gotta do is slow down, and they can get by you near anywhere. Let em go by and good riddance. Don't speed up and or slow down or get righteous 2. So, the guy in front of you is jerking you around and won't let you by, no matter how much you tailgate or crawl up their rear end. Get over it. Neither one of these bozos should have a gun handy. too many hormones and too little sense. Turn and go away from the gun, keep your car out of my garage...... Homeowner sounds like he messed with the guy following, and the guy following also went overboard. Chasing someone into their home? Anyone with half a brain should expect some consequences. Personally, I don't much like guns, especially assault/rapid fire weapons, which have no place in "self" defense, and, most folks WILL defend their homes and family, with whatever they have, and no, we do not need to have assault weapons or carry them everywhere we go, nor do we need to blast, kill, shoot, destroy, obliterate, etc, anyone or anything which does not believe whatever we happen to believe...... And, we are ALL lunatics.
school bus ninja July 19, 2014 at 07:42 pm
Blah, blah, blah. Everyone second guessing what happened. Shoot him here, shoot him there. UnlessRead More you have been in a situation like this, what you would do is pure speculation. The man that was shot lost most of his rights to Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness as soon as he entered another man's dwelling. To the others that hate guns, too bad. The decision about gun ownership is not yours. Get over it. There are many things I hate about tofu eating Marin liberal mushheads that live in a 15 mile bubble that think they know what the world is about. I have to live with you. Most of you moved to California from another state so you could ruin it. Go back to where you came from.
Pat Ravasio July 23, 2014 at 07:26 am
I think if you all used your real names to post comments, you would be nicer.
markrpope July 17, 2014 at 02:59 pm
The guy's a bit old to be such a hot head. Some people are slow learners. Now he will probably sueRead More the guy that shot him. Should have shot to kill if indeed life was threatened, which how could it not be when someone drives their car into your garage in a rage.
Reginald "Rex" Henderson July 17, 2014 at 04:59 pm
Marin has become a real crime center. Hope it doesn't affect my property values...

great driving dude! Bet you either fell asleep or took that turn way to fast to handle (obviously)Read More based on your load. Or you are incompetent to handle a rig like the one you wrecked. There is no excuse for this. And yes it matters because drivers who handle this kind of dangerous haul MUST be the best we can find. Or this is the result. I would like to hear more about this driver, the company he hauls for and what is being done about this. Glad they got a lot of the spilled fuel and glad there was no explosion or fire. But we have to look closely at this driver. Anybody see his story? Thanks.

A huge round of applause is owed to the emergency workers that responded to and cleared this mess.Read More It could have been a lot worse!
This Marin County Sheriff's Office photo shows one of the 130+ recovered bicycles.
Jim Caldwell July 15, 2014 at 10:55 pm
Not a lot of detail here - how can someone pegged to 150 stolen bikes walk? I had my bike lifted andRead More never thought it was anything more than a local thief, probably in need of cash. I grew to accept that. When this huge cache of stolen bikes was uncovered I felt much more inclined to go after these bozos. What gives?
Elvis July 16, 2014 at 12:42 pm
need more details ! is it a bike theft ring or not. my bike stolen last week - lucky to get it back,Read More but a part was missing...

Since this was only a short cut from the real interchange of 580 and 101, I'm surprised at theRead More congestion. Did they put up signs telling the motorists at either end of the problem and solution?
Jim Caldwell July 15, 2014 at 07:20 am
EV cars and drivers are very much subject to increased gas prices, unless your food is teleported toRead More stores. And more EV cars means they all can't be "deep green" and that demand will increase energy prices from your coal-powered ego sedans, let alone the energy to build new cars and to build and one day dispose toxic batteries. And don't forget Fed aubsidies and free bridge passage. My '66 bug runs rings around you in regards to carbon footprint.
Jim Caldwell July 15, 2014 at 07:23 am
Bubba - there is no interchange from 580w to 101s and at best 101n to 580e is an exit and a signal.Read More Add in all the east bay pass through traffic and it's a mess.

Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood are the kind of tribal animals who can never be rehabilitated.Read More They can never be allowed back into society, not ever again. Equally tragic to this event is the us vs. them mentality delivered to the crowd by perceivedRead More leaders: "They brought the violence to us," he said. Who are "they"? Sad, the boy died and now the grieving adults are blinded into misguidance. No winners here except, perhaps, the lawyers. :(

"At today's rally, Maria de Los Angeles, of Roseland, said law enforcement officers who mayRead More have served in Iraq and Afghanistan before they were hired need to be screened for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. " --I think that is probably the most logical thing I've heard anyone say at a rally...while I see nothing wrong with coming together for something you believe in, it was becoming quite obvious that the rallies that were being held after the shooting were being led by individuals whose main focus was simply to rile up the crowds & condemn ALL law enforcement, I really hope that doesnt become the case again...you must act better than those you are trying to condemn,...

If you don't know what a Sig Alert is you should not be driving on any Freeway .
Carol X July 8, 2014 at 01:29 pm
Oh really? Well then, I guess I'll have to find out. Okay, I found out. It's a CHP term taken fromRead More an LAPD name for a communications system. So a term used by cops and radio stations. Gee, I'd have to say your snark is misplaced.
Olive DePonte July 14, 2014 at 05:52 pm
For anyone unfamiliar with Sig Alerts, they were named after Loyd C. "Sig" Sigmon, whoRead More devised the alert system in 1955 (the term entered the Oxford English Dictionary in 1993): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sig_Alert. I remember in 1985 when my husband was rear-ended by a 1959 Ford pickup on the 110S in LA, he informed me by saying, "I was the Sig Alert on the radio this afternoon..."

I appreciate your comment Jeremiah and I don't think I could've said it better myself, so I won't beRead More redundant. Except to repeat only one thing-- This is why Mr Melhman: "the age limit is based on the medical risk profile that would endanger both the employee and the public he is tasked with serving. The likelihood of sudden debilitating circumstances increases with age and these jobs have a stress level which can precipitate it." I'm still of working age yet from day to day I have bizarre health issues pop up. I run abt 3-5 miles per day, 5-6 days a week. I'm in excellent health. I'm also clever and a bright individual. Yet I've begun having pains in places, and I'm also getting forgetful. My eyesight is decreasing. I get stressed easier than I used to. Because this is our natural human aging process. we age. we just do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, in reading this article, I didn't read, nor did I realize we were discussing being let go at a certain age. I thought we were talking about applying for the job, where can age limit is set due to medical and statistical averages. So I agree with you, I do not think a person should be let go the day they turn 62. Most others do also, that;s why we are offered pensions at particular ages for incentive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Lastly, your point using vote vs age limits is like comparing dogs to elephants, and completely irrelevant. We're talking about a person's capability to perform a certain type of job.

**** And I bet SouthernBelle knows something many women and men have forgotten - it's a whole lotRead More more fun acting out the roles when men act like men and women act like women and we all play the game and enjoy life as equal but thankfully different! **** Any good man who values his life knows women are superior to men and don't argue with them because even if you win, you lose!! :-) **** hahahahahahahahahaha!!! Yep, exactly how I feel. There are many many careers out there to choose from. Maybe a girl's passion is to put on 100 lbs of equipment and run up stairs to fight a fire and carry out a 250 lb man- but I'm guessing more aren't than are interested in that. But I'll tell you what, if my daddy's house catches fire and some gal runs up his stairs she best be able to carry him down because HIS life depends on it. And if she can't, then her taking a job she's unable to perform is just wrong.
southernbelle July 12, 2014 at 04:01 pm
one more thing--Mr Melhman, Not sure how long you've been in the area or if you are familiar with LARead More county hiring for Police and fire. But over the past 10 yrs they have had to lower their physical ability testing, as well as their hiring requirements because they had to account for women's physical abilities, and not enough men or women were passing the orals due to prior drug use (even trying it once counts), criminal records (DUI's fall in this), etc. This is also why the quality is lower than it used to be. We haven't seen nothing yet! It's abt to get a whole lot worse because no one wants police officer jobs anymore. so sad how we treat them!
