The board of the fire district meets on the second Thursday of the month, rotating between Fairfax and San Anselmo. The district's headquarters in San Anselmo were constructed and opened in the fall of 2009. Roger Meagor serves as fire chief, overseeing 25 full-time firefighters and 15 volunteer firefighters.
