Ross Valley School District 110 Shaw Dr, San Anselmo, CA94960 The Ross Valley School District covers three elementary schools and one middle school serving San Anselmo and Fairfax.…More The district enrolled 1,973 students for the 2009-10 year at Manor Elementary School in Fairfax, Wade Thomas Elementary and Brookside Elementary in San Anselmo, and White Hill Middle School at the west end of Fairfax. Currently, the district is undergoing change with the hiring of a new Superintendent and with a proposed bond measure on the November 2010 ballot. The bond measure is part of an effort to address enrollment growth with a plan to add additional classrooms to the elementary schools and expand the facilities at White Hill. In addition, Brookside, which is currently divided into two campuses for grades K-2 and grades 3-5, will become two K-5 elementary schools in the 2011-12 school year. The district board of trustees meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 6pm at the district offices on Shaw Drive, behind the Red Hill Shopping Center.

Established in 1951, the school has since been named a California Distinguished School. Its Academic Performance Index (API) is 851 out of 1,000, its average ACT is 23 and nearly 80 percent of graduates go on to four-year colleges. It addition to its college-preparatory curriculum, the school offers the choice of integrated academies to 11th and 12th graders. Integrated academies include communications, engineering, environmental science and global visions. A 2001 modernization bond allowed for facility renovations as well as new science classrooms, computers, and a modernized library. The school has extensive sports programs and extracurriculars, including one of the first high school mountain bike teams.
