I started drinking fine wines in high school.  I was allowed a single glass of wine with dinners on holidays.  It took until I was in my early 20s before I started exploring wine on my own.  

I studied microbiology at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA (wine country).  While there I dabbled in a couple of wine classes and took a quarter off to work as a lab tech at Laetitia which I loved.  Since then I've worked in four other wineries from the 300 ton Akarua Vineyards in New Zealand to the 122,000 ton Trinchero Family Estates (Sutter Home).  I started www.JonesingForWine.com because I work in biotech these days and I miss the wine industry too much to stay completely out of it.

I have a monthly wine column in the Marinscope newspapers.

I am also a challenger in the 2012 Bike Locally Challenge from the Marin County Bike Coalition.  So I'll be posting biking adventures as well as wine related articles.
