Beginning at the age of 8 when my Dad gave me my first camera, a Brownie Hawkeye, I have been using the camera to connect to people and the beauty I see around me.  I got my first real experience working in Boston as a professional photographer in advertising.  I loved it and later when moving to California I started using my camera skills in the film business; location stills, production stills, casting portraits, head shots.  I discovered the art of hand painting photography while on location in New Mexico and began a period of exhibiting and publishing my new fine art photography.  During that same period I began to teach photography and now I am into the digital world and am producing and teaching that media as well.  My website is catkanephotography.com
