When is the First Day of School in San Anselmo and Fairfax?

Yes, summer is almost over. Ross Valley School District offices open Wednesday to accept Proof of Residency forms.





Of course, the calendar just flipped over to August and families are smack in the middle of enjoying summer vacations. 

But, back-to-school commercials hawking new clothes are already being shown on TV and that time of year is really just around the corner. 

So, even though you are most likely still heading to the beach and pool, soaking up those rays of summer, here are some important things to know when it comes to the Ross Valley School District's 2013-14 calendar.

  • First Day of School: Monday, Aug. 19
  • School Offices Re-open: 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7 to Aug. 13; 9 a.m. to noon and 1-6 p.m. Aug. 14; 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Aug. 15 (except Thursday, Aug. 8 when they close at 2:45 p.m.). This is the time for parents to bring in Proof of Residency forms for returning and newly registered students.
  • Student Class Assignments and Schedules Posted: 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 at elementary schools (Brookside Lower, Brookside Upper, Manor & Wade Thomas). White Hill students will get this information at orientation. Refer to the letter sent to your homes.
  • Back to School Night at Hidden Valley: 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28
  • Back to School Night at Manor School : 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29

Students attending Sir Francis Drake High School this fall, here are the key upcoming dates: 
  • First Day of School: Wednesday, Aug. 21
  • Football and Girls' Golf Practice Begins: Monday, Aug. 12
  • Fall Sports Physicals: Saturday, Aug. 17
  • All Other Fall Sports Begin Practice: Monday, Aug. 19
  • Senior Portraits: Tuesday, Aug. 20
  • Schedule Pickup and School Pictures: Tuesday, Aug. 20
  • Frosh Parent Night: 5:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29
  • Back to School Night: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29
