Police Investigating Pool Party at Ross Mansion

Ross Police officials are trying to find out who organized the underground party that police eventually shut down.

A lively pool party held at a Ross Mansion on the market for $7.5 million is the subject of a police investigation while Ross officials attempt to find the organizers of the event, according to a report in the Marin Independent Journal.

Ross police shut down the Saturday underground party on their second visit to the 9,500-square-foot mansion, after receiving noise complaints from neighbors and learning the party attendants were parking illegally at the College of Marin parking lot and being transported to the party via shuttle buses.

Armed security guards originally turned the police away when they first arrived at the 1.42-acre estate — the guard said the event was a fashion designer’s wedding, according to the IJ.

The homeowner who agreed to the house rental told the IJ he was also told the party was a wedding for a fashion designer.

Ross Police Chief Erik Masterson told the IJ that officers eventually were able to shut down the party because party organizers were charging admission (a $25 fee) and serving alcohol without a Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control license.

The event organizers use the name Bump ‘N Tay, but as of Thursday morning, the Bump ‘n Tay Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts appeared to have been deleted, as well as the Facebook event for the event, called the “Mansion Red, White & Blue Pool Party."

Cached versions of notices posted online promoting the party say the party featured a local DJ and offered cabana and bottle service. “Swimwear attire is a must!! (bring your own towel)” said one description on a cached page where attendants could buy tickets for the event.

According to Zillow, the mansion has been on the market for 30 days.
