San Anselmo Inn's Out and Inn Again

New art shop, swimsuit store, and bakery moving slowly.

Inn & Out & Inn Again

has been sold and a company run by Benedetto Cico, whose family lives in Sleepy Hollow, are the proud new owners. Previous owner, Julie, will be missed, especially her daily walks throughout downtown with her little dog, but we wish her the very best in her retirement and move to San Rafael.

I asked one of the long-time employees who will be staying on if there would be any changes made to the darling inn and he said that they would just make it even better. Welcome to the neighborhood, Cico family; we wish you the very best.

'Tis the Season

Swimsuit season is just around the corner and San Anselmo is getting its own bikini and bathing suit shop. While walking by what was once The Perfect Gift, and before that The Pink Geranium, I peaked in the open door and saw that the interior is getting a full lift, something we may all want with summer soon upon us!

I asked one of the workers who was building out the dressing rooms and he told me about the new digs.  Might have to add a few hundred thousand sit-ups to my workout to be worthy, but I can’t wait to see what bikinis are in fasion.

Art from the Heart

Livijan & Lopez Art Works Boutique has opened their doors in between the little office and salon, overlooking San Anslemo’s creek. The inside is filled to the brim with hand-crafted sculptures, paintings, and hand-painted clothing all done by the owner and resident artist, along with some very unique purses and jewelry. The art reminded me a little bit of the recent Celebrity Apprentice (I can't believe I am admitting to watching that show!) episode, where the teams had to create all their own works of art for a charity fundraiser art gallery sale.

April Fools' Day Is a Good Day

It seems April Fools' Day is a good day for our local bicycle shop owners. In 2007, good friends Cory, Eddy and John opened on April 1 in between and on San Anselmo Avenue. They then bought City Cycles a year ago on April 1 and changed Paradigm’s name to City Cycles this year on, you guessed it, April 1.

The same guys still own and run the two shops and only the name has changed, so if you find yourself riding in the city be sure to check them out on Steiner Street too.

Slow Food

It’s certainly not pandemonium at Pan D’Ora, the soon to be bakery between and the Post Office, as things are moving at a snail's pace with the remodel, but it can’t open soon enough in this writer’s opinion.
