Robson Drinking Fountain

Recently, Robson Park user Ann Brenner had the idea to install a drinking fountain in the lower Robson Park area.  Original estimates to place the fountain in the park were about $4,000, which included the actual fountain and the associated plumbing work needed to hook it up.

In the meantime, a separate and substantial plumbing project was begun at lower Robson, due to a broken pipe.  With that project completed, the plumber, who is a long-time San Anselmo resident, installed the necessary plumbing for the drinking fountain, on a volunteer basis.

Suddenly the cost of putting in the fountain is ONLY the cost of the fountain, which is $1475.  What a wonderful surprise!  So, the fountain is now installed and is getting rave reviews.  Funds raised thus far are $730 and we are hopeful that we will receive the additional funds in the next week or so.

Many thanks to Ann for her volunteer spirit and HUGE THANKS to plumber Grier Argall for donating his time and the supplies to make the fountain a reality.

Bicycle and Jogger Safety

Recently I heard from a resident who was concerned about the safety of bicyclists and joggers in the late evening and early morning hours.  The resident noted that when driving to work very early in the morning or returning late at night it is very difficult to see bicyclists and joggers who do not use some kind of reflectors, lights or reflective clothing.

As a reminder to joggers and bicyclists, stay safe and use headlights, reflectors or reflective clothing to ensure you’re visible to drivers.
